Join us this Wednesday, August 12th at the Gulfport Casino Swing Night for Charleston Lessons 6-7pm, Swing Dance Lessons 7-8pm, and Swing Music & Dancing 8-11pm.  This Wednesday's Charleston class covers a new set of moves from last week, including all major Charleston variations done from a facing-your-partner position.  We'll also look at footwork options, plus good body, armwork, & partnering technique.  Admission to Wednesday Swing Nights is just $7, which includes 2 Free Lessons and great all-around fun for all ages!  No partner is needed.    SCHOOL'S OUT SPECIAL EXTENDED! -- for All of August -- Attention Students, and Teachers Too!  Just flash your school ID at the door at this Wednesday's Gulfport Casino Swing Night, pay your $7 admission, and receive a Free Pass good for any upcoming Wednesday!  Charleston Lessons -- More Info

Make plans now for  Swing Time's Summer Sock Hop  happening the following Wednesday, August 19th, at the Pinellas Park Auditorium, 7690 59th St N in Pinellas Park.  (The Gulfport Casino will be closed that night, one Wednesday only, for floor renovation.)  Details: 1950's Attire Encouraged; Bonus Lesson 6-7pm; Swing Lesson 7-8pm; Dance 8pm-Midnight; Hula Hoop Contest!  Admission is $7, and all ongoing Gulfport Wednesday promos (Free Passes, Student Specials, Birthday Admissions) will be accepted.  Stay tuned for full info.

Friday August 21st is Swing Time! at Centro Asturiano in Tampa.  Friday, September 4th is Swing Time! LIVE at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom featuring The Venturas!  Thursdays Starting September 10th, Swing Time will offer 7-week courses and practice sessions at First Dance Studio in St. Petersburg.  The schedule is 7-8pm: Lindy Hop II (course), 8-9pm: Dance Team I (practice/training session), 9-10pm: Lindy Hop I (course).  Stay tuned for full details.

CHARLESTON BONUS CLASSES 6-7PM

Every Wednesday in August at the Gulfport Casino Swing Night, the 6-7pm Bonus Lesson topic will be Charleston!  Learn:

• How to dance Charleston and dance it well
• How to dance all the major Charleston Moves & Variations
• How to incorporate Charleston into your Swing Dancing (East-Coast & Lindy Hop)
• How to dance Partner & Solo Charleston
• How to dance the Charleston Lines ("Sing, Sing, Sing")
• How to work not just your legs, but your arms and body into the dance

GET MORE THAN JUST KICKS!  Most people think Charleston is all about kicks.  Well, kicks are part of it, but what you do with your arms and your body is more important than what you do with your legs.  We'll get you feeling and dancing that Charleston!

INNOVATIVE WORKSHOP FORMAT!  We'll spend the first part of the Charleston classes teaching/learning the material, and the second part practicing and expanding it.  Multiple instructors and advanced swing dancers will be on hand to dance it with you and help you get the feel for the dance!

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:  All classes are FREE! ...with paid admission to the event.  Our Charleston classes offer something for everyone from the beginning to the more advanced dancer.  The Charleston moves and styles and variations taught will vary from week to week.  All Charleston classes stand on their own; you need not take one to take any of the others; but the more weeks you take, the better your Charleston dancing will be!  There are no prerequisites, and no partner is needed.  Come ready to dance, and please arrive early (doors open 5:45pm).  Flat-soled or low/thick heel shoes are recommended (high heels are not recommended).
