Saturday, there's Tropical Heatwave and more swing at the Sugar Palm. Sunday we're having a business meeting of the SwinGang. (Directions: Take I-4 to Exit 1, go south about 2 blocks, turn right on Palm Ave and go to 15th St; the Sugar Palm's on the left; turn left and pay to park or turn right and park on street.) (6/14) There will be a Roaring 20's party at Budious Lounge, 1111 Central Ave in St. Petersburg, from 7-11pm. Plenty of good music, room to dance, cash bar, food provided. See you there! -- Michelle Howl at the moon this Wednesday night (6/10) while dancing to the live music of the Swingin' Mooks. The Full Moon Saloon in Ybor City hosts this Full-Moon Party on their outdoor deck, 10:00pm to 12:30am. WMNF's Tropical Heatwave takes place on Saturday (6/13) at the Cuban Club in Ybor City. A variety of bands will play. Swingwise, there's Big Sandy and His Fly-Rite Boys plus Dan Electro and the Silvertones. Dan Electro & the Silvertones return to the Sugar Palm on Saturday (6/13) for the second night of their weekend double-header. SwinGang meets at the downtown Tampa public library Sunday (6/14) at 2pm. (Meet inside the Ashley Street entrance at 2pm and we'll find a room from there.) We're going to try to have these meetings once a month to conduct whatever business is left over from our secret retreats in the Swiss Alps... Actually, we'll talk about what we've done and what we'd like to do.
